Get ready to power through uphills and descents with this wide-fit and mid-cut GORE-TEX version of the X-ULTRA 4. It is as agile as a trail-running shoe but with all the stability, grip and waterproof protection you need to tackle technical terrain. Equipped with a new chassis, the shoe is even better at protecting sensitive articulations without compromising freedom of movement.

    Would have been a great boot if it did actually fit wide feet

    Was excited to see Salomon offered a wide fitting boot but was immediately disappointed when I received it. It's narrower than the 4D gtx model I was hoping to replace. Would love if salomon offered wide, foot shaped boot options

    X ULTRA 4 MID WIDE GTX

    I have previously had 2 pair of X Ultra 3 Ultra Mid Wide, which I loved. The next iteration, the X ULTRA 4 MID WIDE GTX, has not disappointed. Bought on line. Perfect fit and comfortable first time on foot. No need to break in. Very light and as comfortable as my high end trainers. Waterproof and ankle support. With only 2 open lace clips on each boot it is quick and easy to put on and lace up. I can wear these boots all day. What more can you want!! Salomon have nailed it with this boot.

    Excellent boots!

    Delivery was very prompt. Wore them all day & straight out of the box they were so comfortable! No need to "break them in". Bought these to replace a 10 year old pair of Salomon hiking boots & again, I was not dissapointed. Went straight back to Salomon for these new boots as they are so comfortable, provide great support, perfect fit, super light & look good no matter where I wear them (hiking or more formal events when travelling). My old pair went through many countries enduring dirt/gravel trails, mud, snow, slush, ice & hard pavements without an issue. The X ULTRA 4 MID WIDE GTX are a new level again. Can always rely on the quality of Salomon & I like that I can wear them through airport scanners with no issues. Went with the wide fit this time over the regular fit of my old pair & glad I did - they provide a lot more comfort.

    2. Make sure you are wearing the same socks that you would normally wear with this type of shoe
    3. Wearing these socks, stand on the sheet of paper with your foot perpendicular to the wall and your heel against the wall.
    4. Then use a pen to draw a line just in front of your big toe. Repeat for both feet and take the longer distance to determine your size.
    5. Using a ruler, measure the distance between the wall and the line you drew to find your size.
